An impressive castle that revives the year 1544!
A castle that sparks your imagination, where you step back in time instantly! A “talking” lantern will be your guide when you tour the castle; it will tell you its story from the objective of the lord of the castle. If you’d live in the 16th century, what would you have to do to adapt this castle to the demands of that time?
Hernen is an example of a slowly evolving castle. Over time, the need for defence gave way to the desire to live more comfortably.
The rooms aren’t furnished, so emphasis is concentrated on the architecture. You can touch the 500-year-old roof construction: a unique experience! English tours can be given upon request.
