Ammersoyen Castle
A real medieval castle
You’re welcome to either explore the castle by yourself, or on a guided tour. While you walk around, you will visit the chambers of the keep, the knights’ hall and the women’s quarters. After taking the stairs inside the vast, meters thick walls, you reach the museum attic where the archaeological finds from the moat will give an impression of the castle’s history.
Children will have an excellent time exploring: in the museum attic are all kinds of activities organised for them and in the weapon room they can try on parts of a body harness. The castle also boasts a gift shop and in restaurant Het Koetshuis you can enjoy a drink and a bite to eat. The restaurant has a terrace. Ammersoyen Castle organises events for young and old.
Tours start throughout the day on set times. English tours can be given upon request.
For those who would like to combine a visit to the castle with a bike ride, we recommend this cycling route along Ammersoyen Castle and Loevestein Palace.
